Unpacking the Blink 500 ProX B8
Use each of the ultracompact clip-on transmitters as a real wireless microphone with its onboard mic element or as a bodypack transmitter with its included lavalier microphone.
The ultracompact 4-channel receiver includes an integrated clip with a shoe mount for convenient placement on you or your camera. A 3.5mm TRS audio cable is included to ensure correct connection to a camera or recorder.
Just power on the transmitters and receiver and utilize one-click pairing to enjoy secure wireless audio capabilities instantly.
Place the receiver and transmitters in the included fast-charging case to easily recharge their internal batteries and see real-time charging status on their OLED displays.
Connect, Power, and Go
With the transmitter and receiver neatly paired at a click of the button, the Blink 500 ProX system feels snugly comfortable to use for anyone, anywhere. Videographers, vloggers, YouTube creators, and mobile journalists will appreciate the Blink 500 Pro's power-and-go operation mode.
The 3.5mm input on the transmitter can take a mic- or line-level signal and is therefore completely suited to taking in a wide range of external sources like a lavalier microphone or an audio feed from a mixer or receiver.
Sophisticated technology discreetly manages complex tasks, like changing channels to prevent dropouts, giving you a streamlined and uncomplicated system with no monotonous manual setup required.
Quality Sound
- Blink 500 ProX systems have 16-bit / 48 kHz digital audio resolution that provides you with quality sound at an affordable price.
- In contrast to the integrated microphones of cameras and smartphones, Blink 500 ProX systems provide much better fidelity and clarity with reduced noise.
- Since your subjects may speak at very different volumes, Saramonic outfitted the Blink 500 ProX TX with dedicated gain buttons to allow quick and effortless adjustment of the signal level.
- Utilize the tactile mute function to cut the signal in a hurry without having to adjust the volume.
- Since we know preamps in cameras tend to be noisy, Blink 500 ProX RX's primary 3.5mm output feeds out an adjustable mic-level signal so you can set it once for your camera rather than turning gain all the way up.
- An additional 3.5mm headphone socket lets the Blink 500 ProX RX drive both headphones at once for speedy monitoring and trouble diagnosis.
- The receiver also has a selectable mono/stereo output mode so that it can properly feed a signal from a single transmitter into both of your device's input channels (through mono mode) or from two transmitters into different input channels of your device (through stereo mode).
4-Channel or Mixed Recording Modes
The Blink 500 ProX B8 receiver contains two output cables for 3.5mm TRS and TRRS devices in mono mode to combine all four transmitter microphones as a whole. Place the receiver in 4-Track mode and utilize the 4 x XLR output cable to record each of the mics separately to cameras, recorders, mixers, and interfaces with compatible XLR inputs. Combine two mics using Stereo Mode and the 3.5mm TRS output cable.
Integrated Microphone for Real Wireless Operation
The Blink 500 ProX TXR-WP has an integrated miniature condenser microphone with an omnidirectional pickup pattern that delivers a clear and natural voice tone.
Due to the ultracompact housing of the transmitter, you can attach it to clothing, insert it into a shirt pocket, put it on a podium, or hold it in your hand.
A furry, press-on windscreen is provided to shield the internal mic from wind noise when recording outdoors.
Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphones Included
For ultimate visual discretion, use the Blink 500 ProX TXR-WP as a conventional bodypack transmitter with the included lavalier microphones. Simply clip the omnidirectional lavalier microphone to a lapel or collar and plug it into the 3.5mm input of the transmitter; the transmitter will automatically flip over to the external microphone, so you won't have to go through the trouble of setting the input source.
Every lavalier microphone comes with a foam windscreen that reduces noise from light wind, breaths, and air conditioning units. For further reduction of louder wind noise, a furry windshield (or windjammer, e.g., the Saramonic LM-WS) separately available can be mounted on the microphone.
Stable and Simple 2.4 GHz Digital Wireless
While conventional analog wireless systems tend to be plagued by interference due to TV and radio waves, the Blink 500 ProX digital system mitigates that effect by working at the 2.4 GHz band, whose frequencies are in use above that of television and radio broadcasts and UHF-based wireless microphone setups.
In the 2.4 GHz band, the Blink 500 ProX features automatic channel-hopping to reduce noise and dropouts at a line-of-sight range of up to 918.6 feet. For best performance, environments with low Wi -Fi / 2.4 GHz traffic and few physical obstructions are ideal.
Bright OLED Screens
Every Blink 500 ProX transmitter and receiver features a high-contrast OLED display, providing clear visibility of import settings indoors and outdoors.
The transmitter screen includes real-time input metering, input-gain level, mute icon, wireless strength, and battery life.
Receiver screen: battery life, mono/stereo icon, and headphone level, as well as transmitter's real-time level meter, mute icon, battery life, and wireless-connection strength.
